Hello and welcome to the website of Derek J Fiedler - Writer, Conversationalist, symbolic thinker, and former international bicycle traveler.

This is more than a website. It’s an invitation to join a journey.

In 2013, I embarked on a wild adventure traveling self-supported on a bicycle through foreign lands. Soon, it turned into a soul-searching pilgrimage that led to what I had sought after my whole life - inner peace. Then, I chose the settled life - or, the settled life chose me. And the next journey began.

Having navigated my inner world, it was time to engage with the great world beyond. For that, I needed to learn the language of my inner world - I needed a map. This map is not entirely self-created. Much of it is ancient. But modern times require modern language. That is our journey. And this is our quest - mapping this ever-shifting yet patterned territory of unfolding reality to strive towards beauty, fight for the good, and behold the great mysteries - in hope of helping others navigate these lands even that much more safely. Nobly, we aim to resonate with that which is beyond us and within us. To be enchanted with the terrible wonders of the wild wood.

We are not alone. Others have joined the journey. Fellow sojourners sit by the podcasting fire to share their wisdom and stories on the YouTube Channel.

Along the way, I write letters to progeny and patrons, giving updates of key milestones and documenting this mystic territory. Feel free to open the trunk and view the archives.

Currently, I am writing a mystical memoir documenting my most profound experiences during my bicycle travels - from ashrams to sweat lodges, psychedelics to prayer-visions, succubi to saints. It’s wild.

Occasionally, I will contribute essays to the greater school of symbolic thinking and the logos-centric worldview at The Symbolic World Blog.
